White Has Two Major Offers

D.J. White, a well proportioned 6-8, 225 pound junior power forward from Hillcrest H.S. in Tuscaloosa, Ala., turned in some terrific performances this season.
White plays exceptionally hard, and he is very tough to handle in the low post. He has good moves around the basket, including a drop step, and has decent range on his jumper out to 15 feet.

Although he has a crossover dribble and solid ball handling skills, White is more of a power forward than a small forward. He especially plays big on defense where he challenges lots of shots in the paint.
White told RivalsHoops.com that he's been offered scholarships by Indiana and Alabama, and also is interested in Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State and North Carolina.
White has taken unofficial visits to Alabama, Auburn and Indiana. He attended Alabama's game against Providence last month, and also took in Auburn's home tilt against Georgia State.
"I am thinking about taking one or two official visits in the next few months, but I haven't decided where yet," White said.
White took his unofficial visit to IU when he was in ninth grade, and he has a long standing relationship with Hoosier Head Coach Mike Davis.
"I've known coach Davis since I was very young," White said. "He's a good man."
As a sophomore last season, White averaged 14 points, nine rebounds and seven blocks per contest. He said he has a 3.5 GPA and will take the ACT for the first time in April.
During the spring and summer months, White plays with Wig Pearson's Alabama Lasers program. He expects to attend the Nike All-American Camp in July.
White is one of the top prospects in the Class of 2004 and a legitimate McDonald's All-American candidate. Rivalshoops.com will keep you on top of his recruitment and play, so stay tuned!
