Whispers: Daniels has a top four

MORE WHISPERS: UK enters Baru picture
DeAndre Daniels, the top available prospect in the class of 2011, is currently tucked away at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and little recruiting information is coming out concerning the former Texas commitment.

Sources close to Daniels' situation, however, have informed Rivals.com that four schools are currently pushing toward the top of his recruitment. Kansas, Florida, UCLA and Texas are emerging as the teams to beat.
New offer for four-star PG
It is looking less likely that four-star point guard Cezar Guerrero will end up at Western Kentucky, to which he had originally committed. A number of high-majors have jumped into his recruitment. Wake Forest has offered a scholarship. Other schools in the mix are Kansas, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, New Mexico State, Oregon State, BYU and Iowa.
More on the point
Rivals150 prospect Elijah Carter is the second-best available point guard in the class of 2011. A number of schools are involved with Carter. Butler and Oklahoma are the latest schools to call on the scoring lead guard.
Interest in the unsigned
Athletic shooting guard and Rivals150 prospect Josh Richardson will have plenty of options when the spring signing period rolls around. The latest schools to offer Richardson are TCU, Northeastern and Wichita State. Ole Miss is also pursuing Richardson.
Drawing a crowd
Class of 2012 five-star prospect Perry Ellis has been one of the most highly recruited prospects in the country, and there appears to be no let-up in the recruiting effort going into the season.
UCLA was on hand for Ellis' practice on Monday, and Big 12 head coaches Bill Self of Kansas, Frank Martin of Kansas State and Jeff Capel of Oklahoma are expected to be on hand for Ellis' opening game on Friday.
Future Wildcat
Class of 2012 four-star prospect Savon Goodman of the Philadelphia Academy of the New Church is expected to make it official for Villanova on Tuesday. The athletic and physical forward will join four-star combo guard Ryan Arcidiacono in the Wildcats' 2012 recruiting class.
