Whats Up With Greg Brown

He's somewhat of a playground legend on the AAU circuit, and ironically enough, he plays for the Wisconsin Playground Warriors.
Meet Greg Brown, the ultra talented yet ultra unorthodox 6-1, 195 pound shooting/combo guard from Vincent H.S. in Milwaukee, Wis.

Brown finished up his playing days at Vincent this past season, and now has some decisions to make about his future.
Will he attend junior college? What about prep school?
Even he admits he doesn't have the answer just yet.
Brown has had some contact with Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, where his Playground Warrior teammate Tyler Jones is slated to start school in the fall.
And he says he's likes two JUCOs at the top of the list should he decide to go that route -- Wabash Valley College in Illinois and Vincennes J.C. in Indiana. Both are big time junior college programs located not too far away from each other in the Midwest.
Of course, there are even some Division I programs still dabbling with Brown this summer.
Brown listed Iowa, Wisconsin, Miami, Cincinnati, Louisville and Kentucky as possible college destinations should he prep and qualify academically.
Brown has been among the top scorers at the Peach Jam this week. He is clearly more of a two than a one, and he plays the game in an offbeat manner that defies convention.
While he has a solid frame, Brown isn't very toned from a muscular standpoint. On top of that, he's not quick, nor does he possess great athleticism, and his three point shot has a hitch in it.
What he does possess is fearlessness on the basketball court. He has jukes and wiggles to shake defenders, and will shock everyone at times with his shot selection. But the bottom line is that he makes plays and knows how to fill it up.
He's the AAU equivalent of that 39-year old guy at the local park who has a knack for schooling all comers, no matter what their age.
This past season at Vincent, Brown averaged 23 points, eight rebounds and six assists per contest. He said he has a 2.3 GPA and scored a 16 on the ACT, which would leave him significantly short of NCAA standards for initial freshman eligibility.
After the Peach Jam, Brown plans to attend the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas with the Milwaukee Running Rebels. Then he will sit down in August and decide what to do with his future.
Hopefully Brown makes the right choice, because whether it takes one year or two, big-time Division I colleges will probably be fighting over his signature on a national letter of intent.
