What Next For Larry Turner

Larry Turner, a 6-10, 225-pound center/power forward from Bridgton Academy in Maine, has been placed into a tough position. First, he was denied denied admission by Georgia last year. Turner then took the hard route and enrolled at Bridgton Academy in Maine to gain academic eligibility.
Turner kept loyal to the Georgia basketball program and signed a letter of intent. He was then rejected again by the admissions office. Newspaper reports have indicated that the Georgia President and head coach Jim Harrick did not communicate clearly.

And now Turner is paying the price once again, even after the he did what was asked of him. "Larry is a good kid," head coach Whit Lesure said. "He did everything we asked him to do. I wish I had him for the whole year. It would have been an even better relationship. But he did what he had to do. I think Georgia is missing out on a good student/athlete. He has the potential to be a very good student and athlete for any program."
Turner has already been given the green light by the NCAA clearinghouse. Lesure did a tremendous job with Turner in polishing his game and helping Larry work hard in the classroom. Sources tell us that Alabama, Ohio State, and Connecticut may recruit him. But the publicity surrounding this situation may also push schools away too.
