What Douby Means To Rutgers

Quincy Douby, the sure-fire marksman out of Grady High School in Brooklyn who will prep at St. Thomas More Academy this fall, will provide immediate firepower from the perimeter for the Rutgers basketball program. Douby may be the best long range shooter on the prep school level. His range goes beyond the NBA three-point line.
What Douby has improved in over the past year under Grady head coach Jack Ringel is the ability to shake his man with his dribble and then drop in the long-range jumper.

Douby, who committed to Rutgers today, will elevate the Rutgers offense in two areas -- on the perimeter and in the interior. Yes, we know Douby can shoot it from deep. But he also has a direct effect on the big guys trying to find space inside to make inside moves. Defending guards will not be able to slack off Douby. Therefore, post players on the same side as Douby will benefit for more space to work with on the offensive end.
Douby attended the Nike Camp in Indianapolis, and then skipped The Peach Jam in order to rest an injured finger. Douby then competed in the Super Showcase in Orlando with Riverside Church. Douby still needs to round out his core requirements and needs a qualifying SAT score. He is currently on his way up to St. Thomas More. He starts school tomorrow, according to Ringel.
