Westbrook weighing options

Three-star prospect Russell Westbrook led his Leuzinger High School from Lawndale, Calif., to a 25-3 record behind his growing game and competitive spirit. According to Leuzinger coach Reggie Morris, eight schools are in the hunt for his 6-foot-3, 175-pound combo guard, and four of those schools have offers on the table.
"Russell is interested in Washington, Wake Forest, Miami, Boston College, San Diego, Creighton, UCLA and Kent State," said Morris. "Miami, San Diego, Creighton and Kent State have offered.

"He's already visited Creighton and Kent State, and he's going to decide Saturday what he is going to do with his other three visits."
A tough competitor as his 9 rebounds per game attest to, Westbrook also put up 26 points per game during his senior season. Over the past year and a half, he has grown four inches, and his body and game have blossomed this year.
"Russell has a good feel for the game," said Morris. "He does a good job getting to a lot of balls. He's the type of player that won't let you lose. He's a tough kid who does a good job getting to the free throw line. He is also a great rebounder from the guard position.
"He really just needs to get bigger and stronger in order to take the pounding of the college game."
