West Virginia Showcase tips off tonight

The second annual West Virginia Showcase, a two-day event featuring several of the nation's top high school prospects, will tip-off this afternoon at 5:00 p.m. EST, at Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W. Va. Headliners in the eight-game showcase are Rivals.com's No. 1 rated senior player, Gerald Green, and his torrid shooting teammate, Jo Van Adams, rated No. 19 by Rivals.com.

Co-director Buck Hoffmaster has assembled a talented national field for his second year of the West Virginia Showcase at Shepherd College. Top players in the event include Oklahoma State signee, 6-foot-8 power/wing forward Gerald Green, and future UNLV point guard, 6-foot-2 Jovan Adams, both of Houston, Texas, Gulf Shores Academy; Wake Forest recruit, 6-foot-7 power forward Kevin Swinton, and his high scoring junior teammate, 6-foot-6 wing forward William Graves, reportedly, now a prime recruiting target for North Carolina.

Also, the top senior prospect for Coach Stewart Vetter's nationally ranked Rockville, Md., Montrose Christian Academy, unsigned 6-foot-9, 220-pound center/forward Uche Echefu; Florida recruit, sharpshooting 6-foot-5 second guard David Huertas, George Mason-bound, 6-foot-7 power forward Sammy Hernandez, developing 7-foot-2, 240-pound junior center Jason Bennett, and "shake'n bake" artist, 5-foot-11 junior point guard Josue Soto, all of Jacksonville, Fla., Arlington Country Day School; and a couple of future Virginia Cavaliers, fall signee, 6-foot-8, 245-pound senior center/forward Laurynas Mikalauskas, and his junior teammate, now committed to Coach Pete Gillen's program, 6-foot-3 combo guard Steven Kendall, St. George, Va., Blue Ridge School.
