Wes Wardrop: Steady and Sure

SMITHFIELD, RHODE ISLAND -- Wes Wardrop, a 6-3, 180-pound combo guard from Worcester Academy in Massachusetts who signed with Loyola of Marymount this past Fall, did a good job on Jamar Wilson, the pesky guard from Our Savior New American.
Wardrop is an intriguing prospect because he has size and a world of potential. "He is the best defender I have ever coached," Worcester head coach Mo Cassara said. "He is a smart player. He doesn't make many mistakes."

Wardrop is the steady guard for Worcester Academy. He compliments Jarrett Jack, who is headed to Georgia Tech this Fall, very effeciently. "His outside shot is coming on," Cassara said.
Wardrop did hit a couple of perimeter shots against Our Savior. When left alone, Wardrop will damage you. "He is a steady player," Cassara said. "He is going to be a very good college player. His best days are ahead of him."
Wardrop did show this past weekend that he can handle top competition. In fact, for most of this season, Wardrop has proved to onlookers that he can play with division one talent. Worcester plays one of the toughest schedules in the country.
