Wes Wardrop: Solid Guard Defender

When you first watch Wes Wardrop, a 6-3, 180-pound combo guard from Worcester Academy in Massachusetts, you don't really notice some of the contributions he makes on the court. It has taken a while but Rivalshoops.com has now seen Wardrop play seven times this season. And the consensus from our reporters is that Wardrop is a solid guard and defender.
Wardrop, who signed with Loyola of Marymount this past Fall, has been called by his coach, Mo Cassara as the best defender he has coached. One cannot disagree with Cassara.

Wardrop also does a nice job in the offensive side too. He rarely forces a shot or makes a silly mistake. Wardrop dropped in 14 points on Wednesday night to help Worcester defeat Bridgton. He hit for two three-pointers and his baskets were big ones for Cassara's team.
If Wardrop was available right now, he likely would have been recruited at a higher level. As rivalshoops.com has already stated, it takes some time to understand his value. Wardrop is a gritty, tough, hard-nosed player who has a good understanding of the game. Like most players on Worcester, if Wardrop were the headline star, he would average close to 20 points a game.
Wardrop played with the LA Rockfish, one of the country's top AAU programs, during last summer. He heads back to the West Coast right after graduate and start his college career. The staff at Loyola Marymount have to be happy about his progress under Cassara while he was at Worcester.
