PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND -- Marquis Webb, a 6-4, 180 pound junior shooting guard from Paterson Catholic H.S. in Paterson, N.J., displayed a sweet shooting touch yesterday to help the T5T Playaz win an AAU battle against the Falcons at the Hoop Group's event in Providence, Rhode Island.
Webb hit several top of the key jumpers en route to 14 points. Webb hit three three-pointers in the first half to help the Playaz go up 37-29. They won the game by 20 points. This game was played at Rhode Island College. It was one of several places this event had games scheduled yesterday.

Webb is one of the top long distance players in the said he has two early leaders.
Webb told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he is open in his recruiting process. But many of the schools on the East Coast fill his list. Webb has no preference regarding geographic location of his college choice. The list includes Syracuse, Villanova, UMass, N.C. State, Virginia, UConn, Seton Hall, Louisville and Kentucky.
Webb enjoyed a solid junior campaign for the Cougars, averaging close to 20 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals per game.
A cerebral player with average quickness, Webb uses his long, lanky frame to score well on the break. He is a streaky shooter from the perimeter, and if Webb is going to make the transition to the one slot, he will need to improve his handle. It appears that Webb has made progress with his handle over the past year.
Webb has become well known on the spring and summer circuit in the past few years playing with Jimmy Salmon's T5T Playaz program.
