Webb Down To 2 Schools

Marquis Webb, a 6-3 shooting guard/swingman from Paterson Catholic H.S. in Paterson, N.J., is expected to announce tomorrow that he has committed to a college. Webb is likely to choose between Temple and Rutgers. He has not spoken to any of the staffs involved in the process yet about his official decision.

Webb had early summer interest from Syracuse, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Temple, Villanova, Massachusetts, Maryland, UCONN, and St. John's. But some of these schools dropped out after grabbing other guards.

Webb, who had an up and down spring with * The Playaz, had a solid ABCD camp. He also had some very good moments during the spring and summer. Webb had a terrific weekend at the Bob Gibbons Memorial Day Tournament of Champions. At the Gibbons tournament, Webb consistently scored in transition and made solid decisions with the basketball as the Playaz Gold squad streaked to the 17 and under National Division title.

We will keep you posted on the decision. The New York/New Jersey pipeline are showing that Rutgers will be the winner in this recruiting war. However, Webb hasn't officially committed to a school yet.
