Janavor Weatherspoon, an athletic 6-2, 175 pound off/combo guard from Odessa J.C. in Odessa, Tex., committed to Oklahoma State, according to Odessa assistant coach Matt Figger. This is conditional upon Weatherspoon's official visit. This visit will happen after his season ends.
Weatherspoon is averaging 26 points a game so far this season. He committed to Old Dominion out of high school but he did not qualify. Weatherspoon then enrolled at the Winchendon School.

"He is planning to take a visit to Oklahoma State," Figger said. "If everything goes well, that is where he will sign. Mississippi State and New Mexico are still recruiting him in case he changes his mind. Oklahoma State is looking for a guard since Mo Baker is a senior. Weatherspoon is 6-2 and 170 pounds."
He has had high games of 42, 40, and two 37-point games. He is more of a shooting guard but can handle the point on occasion.
Previously, Figger told us that George Washington, Florida State, Texas Christian, West Virginia, N.C. State and Long Beach State had all been in to take a look at Weatherspoon. Another school, St. Bonaventure, has also called on Weatherspoon this fall.
A native of Delaware, Weatherspoon had signed out of high school with Old Dominion. But after failing to meet NCAA eligibility requirements, Weatherspoon headed off to Odessa J.C.
As a freshman last season, Weatherspoon averaged 12.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists. He shot 57 percent from the floor and 44 percent from beyond the arc.
Weatherspoon is an excellent offensive guard with athleticism, although he does not really have the instincts to play the one position.
