Waters letting the shots flow

Shooters always come at a premium in college basketball and that will be the ticket that Stacy Waters punches en route to the next level. The 6-foot-3 guard from Detroit (Mich.) Renaissance showed off his skill set behind the arc and earned a couple of mid-major offers this spring.
Playing with the Michigan Mustangs, Waters did a fine job of knocking down multiple three-pointers in all of the games he played in.

"I think I helped myself and gave the coaches something to look at," Waters said. "I was able to put something into their minds, at least I hope I did. I was consistent with my scoring and shooting and playing hard. That is what I did the best at," Waters said.
"It's very, very important to be consistent. You can't play good one weekend and then not play well the next weekend. You have to keep at the same level every time you go out. I was able to show that I can shoot the ball and that I can be a threat out there on the perimeter. It's a big part of my game. I like to be able to come out there and make guys check me so I can put the ball on the floor and get by them with the dribble. If I can be a threat out there, then I'll shoot it."
Oklahoma, Penn State, Fordham, Bradley, Virginia Commonwealth (offer), Youngstown State (offer) and Wright State (offer) are all heavily involved, Waters said, and a Big Ten school is making quite the impression.
"Right now, I'm really feeling Penn State," Waters said. "They came on strong and they made me understand how I'd fit into their program and they took me in really well. I plan on going out there this summer for a visit."
Waters said he and his Mustang teammates will take to the court this weekend at the May Classic in Bloomington, Ind., and finish the month in North Carolina at the Tournament of Champions.
