Lyndale Burleson, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound shooting guard from Franklin High School in Seattle, Washington is living the life that not many people experience. His bloodline is enriched with athletic ability and he’s not the only Burleson benefiting from that.
Lyndale isn’t the only member of his family who’s athletically gifted. He’s got two brothers that are having quite a bit of success at the collegiate level. Kevin is a guard for the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Nate was just drafted by the Minnesota Vikings.

Burleson and Randy Moss could become a deadly wide-receiver duo in the NFL.
It’s no wonder that schools like Duke, Kansas, Michigan, North Carolina, Minnesota, Oregon and Syracuse are calling on the highly athletic shooting guard. People will quickly look at his numbers from this past year and assume Burleson had a down year, but that isn’t the case.
Oregon bound and McDonald’s All-American point guard Aaron Brooks ran the show for Franklin this year and assumed most of the responsibilities. With Brooks gone next year, Burleson will get the opportunity to shine.
“Some coaches are coming by the high school for a before the end of the contact period,” Burleson said. “I haven’t put together a top 10 list of schools just yet, but that’s something I’m going to do very soon.
“I’ll probably wait until the fall before I start taking my official visits,” he added. “I haven’t decided if I will take all five, but that’s a real possibility.”
Burleson is extremely good friends with Rotary Select AAU teammate Marvin Williams, Jr. In fact, both have openly discussed the possibility of taking an official visit to Kansas.
“I’m definitely going to visit Kansas if that’s something the staff offers,” he said. “It would be real cool if Marvin and I could visit Kansas together. We’ve talked about playing college basketball together, but nothing is set-in-stone.
“I’m still hearing from Kansas and they’re still sending me letters, so that’s a school I’m really interested in,” he added.
Burleson traveled to the Houston Superstars Tournament in Houston, Texas on April 25-27 with his AAU teammates. They’ll stay in Washington on the weekend of May 2-4 for a Washington Premier Tournament, which takes place at the University of Washington.
