Rivals.com reported on the high major interest stirred up by Arkansas Wings 2005 prospect Michael Washington at the Las Vegas Spring Showcase. And according to the 6-foot-8, 210-pound power forward out of McGhee (Ark.) High School, six high majors have decided to act on their interest.
“My favorites are Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Texas, and Kansas,” said McGhee. “All of these schools have offered.”
Washington plans to take his first visit next month but does not yet know where he will visit.
A couple schools have made trips to McGhee to visit Washington.
“A Texas assistant came in last week, and Coach Barns [Ole Miss] came in Tuesday,” said Washington. “He seemed like a really good guy, and I enjoyed meeting him.”
Washington is long and athletic but still developing a feel for the game. He has three point range and could possibly develop into a small forward. He must get stronger to compete at the level he is being recruited.
