DeMatha High School's senior combo guard Warren Williams had a strong weekend at the 42nd Annual Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament in Forstburg, Maryland. That, in spite of an extremely painful injury incurred Friday night in the semifinal win over St. Joseph's Prep of Philadelphia.
Williams, who said that the current list of schools is Dayton, Missouri, Siena, Towson, Niagara, Loyola (MD) and American, went down twice in that game. (Earlier he was looking at Florida State, Clemson, Holy Cross, Wagner and St. Bonaventure.)

The first injury occurred with about three minutes left in the first half; he played out the rest of the half. The senior's left ankle was taped during the halftime break; he returned to the lineup at the 6:12 mark of the third period. Then with 2:00 left in the game, Williams again went down as he was fouled driving to the basket. This time, he went to the bench and quickly put ice on the joint.
He was in the starting lineup in the tournament final and helped the Stags win the Tournament Championship with 14 points and nine assists. Williams was named to the All-Tournament second team.
"My ankle was really hurting," Williams said. "But once the game started, the adrenalin made it easier to play. It was really important for me to play, it was our last game," he added.
Williams, who will participate in the preliminary game of the Jordan Brand Capital Classic on April 11th, said he'll be making his college choice soon.
Whichever program he chooses will be getting a talented, dedicated young man from one of the top prep programs in the country.
