Warren Set for Five Official Visits

Although he has only played ball for two and a half years, Sam Warren can run and jump at 6-foot-10, 222-pounds. The center out of Cherry Creek High School in Denver, Colo., has a ways to go as a high major prospect, but several schools see that potential. Warren will officially visit five of those schools.
Warren begins with an unofficial visit to Nebraska on September 3. On September 10 he begins his official visits with a trip to Virginia. The next weekend he goes to Penn State. In October he will visit Pepperdine on the 1st, San Diego on the 8th, and UCLA on the 15th. He also has two in-home visits scheduled in September for Penn State on the 9th and UCLA on the 12th.

“All of the schools I am visiting have offered,” said Warren. “I am also considering SMU and Nevada, but there is not enough time to visit them.”
Warren has a very specific academic focus that he is looking for in a college.
“I need a college that offers a degree in Media Arts,” he said. “All these schools have terrific basketball programs. I want to be somewhere where I am comfortable with the environment and the coaching staff.”
Warren is beginning his first year a Cherry Creek this year. In fact, it is his first year at any school since his fourth grade year. He has been home schooled from the fourth grade through the eleventh grade. Warren felt that it was important to get acclimated to a school environment before he heads off to college.
He is also putting the time into getting ready for college basketball and realizing his potential in his new found sport.
“My defense is ahead of my offense right now,” he said. “I’m working on my ball handling, on my anticipation of plays, and I want to get stronger. I am working out with the assistant trainer of the Denver Nuggets, Rich Williams.”
