Warren Has Top School Only...

Jamual Warren, a 6-2, 190 combo/point guard from Springfield, MA, has a top school. "I want to go to Cincinnati," he told us tonight. "Only they're not recruiting me. They have a great program and I think their style of play would be perfect for my abilities."
This doesn't mean that RivalsHoops.com's number 58 player in the class of 2003 isn't wanted by top programs. He's being recruited by Connecticut, DePaul, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall, Louisville, Memphis, UMass, Maryland, Wake Forest, and Oklahoma. The schools he mentioned tonight were Memphis, DePaul, Maryland and St. John's. He's taken unofficial visits to UMass, UConn, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall, Maryland and Memphis.

Warren played this past season at Holyoke High School where he averaged 21.3 points, and 11 rebounds. Holyoke is about 15 minutes away from his home.
He's going to head back to Notre Dame Academy in Fitchburg, MA for his senior year. "There isn't much basketball out here in western Massachusetts," he said. "And I need to keep working on my jump shot," which is the aspect of his overall game that he's been focusing on during the offseason. RivalsHoops.com's Mike Sullivan wrote this spring that Warren is an explosive athlete who thrives in up-tempo situations. His constant motor and slashing ability make him a difficult assignment for any defense.
Warren was another one of the players affected by the 100-mile rule. He excelled at both the Southern Invitational and the Tournament of Champions in May but couldn't play with New Jersey's Tim Thomas Playaz during the July evaluation period. He participated at the adidas ABCD camp and made last week's all-star team at the Eastern Invitational where he scored 18 points in his squad's 112-73 win.
Warren is taking classes to help him with the SAT examination process and will take the test for first time this fall.
