Walter Murray Recovers From Injury

CENTEREACH, NEW YORK -- Walter Murray, a 6-0 guard from Our Savior New American, has recovered from his ankle injury. Murray was unable to play at last week's National Prep School Invitational held on the campus of Bryant College in Rhode Island. Murray was sorely missed in a loss to Worcester Academy of Massachusetts.
Murray is the little engine that could. When first seeing Murray, you wonder how he would be able to play against the big people on the court. But Walter is a tough kid. He is a good competitor who can shoot the ball from deep.

The lefty junior can put points up in a hurry. Though he sat out almost three quarters against Solebury School of New Hope, Pennsylvania this past weekend, Murray still managed to drop in 12 points, including one three-pointer. Murray will be with Our Savior this week on their trip through Virginia and North Carolina.
Murray is open in his recruiting process. But Hartford, St. Peter's, Rider, Providence, Texas A&M, and Seton Hall have all seen Murray in action. Like most players in the 2003 class, how Murray stacks up against the best during the AAU sessions will determine how high he goes on the college level. But there will always be room for a shooter.
