The 6-foot-4 point guard from Coraopolis (Penn.) Moon visited Xavier over the weekend and decided he was ready to end his recruitment.
"I was there on Saturday and it felt right," Walsh said. "I had a gut feeling about it and I've had a good relationship with coach (Sean) Miller. I felt like I was really wanted. I had a chance to talk to (2008 commits) Kenny Frease and Brad Redford. I thought it was the right feeling. It feels good."
The weekend trip was his second to the Atlantic 10 school. He also considered Maryland and St. Joseph's.
"I had a good time this past time there. I met the players, and that was really important. I loved the guys there. They are pretty cool. They made me feel comfortable."
Walsh said his connection with coach Miller, a Pittsburgh native, goes back for a while. Walsh said he is looking forward to playing for a family that he respects from the Steel City.
"His dad coached at Blackhawk (High School in the Pittsburgh area) and he crush teams. He and his dad and the Miller name goes along way there. (Miller) has been on me since my recruitment started. We've always had a relationship."
