Wallace Will Play In SEC

Brandon Wallace, a 6-9, 200-pound forward from Silver Bluff High School in South Carolina, committed to South Carolina today. "I thought it was a chance to play for an up and coming program," Wallace told us tonight. "I like the coaches there. I think I fit in well there."
Wallace raised his stock at the Super Showcase. He is one of the better wing/power forward combo prospects in the 2003 class. He is lean for sure but has the agility to slice around bodies along the baseline for driving baskets. "I have to add some weight to my body," Wallace said. "I have to be stronger when I play inside. That's what I want to improve in this season."

Wallace also has a nice touch from the outside. He handles the ball with some skill in transition and when under pressure. He certainly has some nice upside to his game once he establishes more strength in his upper body.
South Carolina, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Clemson, and Connecticut were mentioned by Wallace as being very high on his list in early July. Notre Dame and Virginia also took a serious look at Wallace, who can play the wing position on the college level. But Wallace said South Carolina and Auburn were the only schools he considered when he made his decision today.
