FORSTBURG, MARYLAND -- Roanoke Catholic's senior point guard Phillip Wall will spend a postgraduate year at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania it was announced this weekend at the 42nd Annual Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament. Wall averaged 9.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals over the three-day event.

With the offensive players at Roanoke Catholic this season, i.e., super junior J.R. Reynolds who already committed to Virginia, senior center Todd Mankevicius who is headed to VMI and junior swingman Matt Nowlin, Wall has not needed to score that much. Playmaking was his role and he did exactly what was expected.
In the Spalding game where more was needed, as Reynolds faced a box-and-one for much of that contest, Wall put in 17 points and hit all six of his free throw attempts. The Celtics won in OT, 75-50. Wall hit all four of his shots from the charity stripe in the extra period.
