Walker listing five

2009 three-star prospect Demetrius Walker is looking for a fresh start at his knew high school San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) Jserra Catholic High School. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound small forward is also looking at five schools.

Presently Memphis, Florida, USC, Villanova and Oregon comprise his school list, but it is far from a closed list.

"USC has offered and came out to watch me this fall," said Walker. "My list is still open, though, and it will be a while before I make a decision. I'll worry about it more next year."

Walker does have a good idea of what he will be looking for in a school when that time comes.

"I'd like the location to be convenient enough for my mother to see me play," he said. "Academics are also important, so I'll have something to fall back on if basketball doesn't work out. As for basketball, I like to go up and down the court, so I want to play in an up tempo system. I'll also be looking at the strength and conditioning program."

A physically imposing player, Walker appears to have topped out at 6-foot-4. Improving his perimeter skills is at the top of his agenda.
