Wake Picks Up Top 20 Player

Wake Forest coach Skip Prosser didn't waste much time in starting to build his 2004 recruiting class. Prosser's program scored a big verbal commitment by landing 6-7 swingman Cameron Stanley of Millbrook High School in Raleigh, North Carolina.
"His game has really come along the past year," said his coach at Millbrook, Scott McInnes. "He has worked hard. He worked very hard last spring and had a great summer."

Stanley first impressed RivalsHoops.com at the ABCD camp last July. "He has improved his perimeter game a lot," McInnes said. "He has worked on improving his ballhandling. He can be a very special 6-7 player at the guard position."
Stanley, who averaged 18 points a game last season, was also looked at by Florida, North Carolina, Florida State, Virginia, and NC State. Arizona and Kansas had made some preliminary phone calls. But Prosser made the smart move before Stanley's recruiting process blew up. RivalsHoops.com has Stanley rated in the top 20 for the 2004 class.
