With little to choose from, landing Albrecht became even more important for the Wolverines this week when Trey Burke entered the draft. Already in need of a point guard who could spot Burke 5-10 minutes a night next season, his departure left Michigan without one.
In Albrecht, Michigan landed a floor general with savvy, a feel for passing and the ability to knock down a jumper. A native of Crown Point (Ind.), Albrecht was strong during a prep school year at Northfield (Mass.) Mount Hermon.
Finally, Billy Kennedy and his staff targeted Harris early and their efforts paid off. A native of Chicago who originally signed with Houston before ending up at Twin Falls (Idaho) College of Southern Idaho. At CSI, Harris emerged as one of the top point guards in the junior college ranks and is a tough scorer who plays fearlessly despite a slender frame.
