Waiting Game for Humphrey

The No. 10 ranked player in the state of Georgia Billy Humphrey is in no rush to choose a school. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound shooting guard from Dacula (Ga.) High School has a couple of SEC offers along with other offers, but he is planning on waiting it out to see who really wants him.
"I like South Carolina, the College of Charleston, Tulane, New Orleans, UAB, Arkansas, Arkansas State, UNC-Wilmington, Charlotte, Auburn, and Appalachian State,” said Humphrey. “All of them have offered, but I don’t want to name a leader right now."

Despite the interest from all these programs, Humphrey will likely wait to sign until the spring.
"I don’t have any visits set up right now,” he said. “I will take some visits in the spring. I will probably visit South Carolina and Arkansas for sure, but I’m not sure who else. I don’t know how many visits I’ll take. If I find the school that I think is right for me, I will commit. I don’t want to waste my time or anyone else’s time. I just want to wait and see who truly wants me. A lot of schools have came and gone in my recruitment."
Humphrey was a steady outside shooting threat over the summer for the Georgia Stars. He was the star of the Kingwood Classic championship game, sinking 6 three-pointers in the win. A very good spot-up shooter, the questions about Humphrey’s game concern his ability to create his own shot off the dribble and to defend.
Expect early playing time and proximity to home to play an important part in Humphrey’s decision.
"I’d like to go somewhere that I’ll get a chance to play early,” he said. “If a school is close to my home, that will definitely help, but I will not rule out anybody."
