Wade a Big Time Sleeper on National Level

Lorenzo Wade, a smooth 6-4, 183 pound shooting guard/swingman from Cheyenne H.S. in Las Vegas, Nev., has emerged as one of the better sleepers from this year's adidas Big Time Tournament here in Las Vegas.
Simply put, Wade is a pure scorer who fills it up within the structure of the game. He has good size, quickness and dribbling skills for a 6-4 guard, although he will need to get much stronger for the major Division I level.

A lefty with a pretty stroke from downtown, Wade also impressed us with his ability to score consistently on finger roll floaters to the cup despite his lithe frame in a 64-58 loss to D.C. Assault on Wednesday morning at Green Valley H.S.
While there are some lingering questions about his academic status for the Division I level, the rising senior guard told Rivalshoops.com that he is hearing from Boston College, Iowa State, Oregon, Southern California, Washington, Marquette, Tennessee, Pepperdine and UNLV this summer.
Wade said he hadn't yet received a Division I scholarship offer, although he credited the Marquette staff for their aggressive job in recruiting him thus far. He said he has no leader and will let the recruiting process play itself out this summer and into the fall.
Originally from Compton, Calif., Wade transferred to Cheyenne H.S. from another high school in Las Vegas last year, and averaged just 11 points per game. He said that he didn't average more because he came into a situation where the team had other proven veteran scorers on the squad.
Wade said he has a 2.3 GPA in the classroom, and missed a qualifying SAT score on his first attempt on the exam this past spring.
Even though he wasn't invited to either the Nike All-American or adidas ABCD Camps, Wade has had an incredibly busy summer that has included pit stops at the West Coast All-Star Camp (session I), the Finalscore.com Tournament in Seattle, the Full Court Press Tournament and of course the Big Time Tournament.
Wade plans to end his summer of play next week with the Las Vegas Rebels at the Best of the Summer Tournament in Los Angeles.
