Virginia sophomore shows potential

Because he's just finishing up his sophomore year of high school, not a lot of people know about Anthony Barber yet. However, that will change soon enough.
A 6-foot-2 point guard at Hampton (Va.) High who prefers to go by his nickname, Cat, Barber has all the makings of a big-time prospect.

Ridiculously quick off the bounce, he's a creative scorer who is constantly in attack mode. Last weekend at Nike's EYBL in Hampton, the Boo Williams standout made his presence known.
"I think I'm doing well," the reserved Barber told Rivals.com. "I just try and attack."
Attack he did. Over and over and over again. Most of the time, with great success as he made good things happen with the ball in his hands more often than not.
Still very early in the recruiting process, the four-star prospect says that there have really only been two programs recruiting him aggressively and he seems to be fine with that as he forces his way onto the national radar.
"I hear from Virginia Tech and Virginia," said Barber. "That's really about it and it's cool. I'll probably stay close to home."
