Virginia SG Might Head To Prep School

Brandon Smith, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound shooting guard from Ryan Academy in Norfolk, Va., has a microwave like ability to heat up from the perimeter and score.
Smith, who played with the Boo Williams entry last weekend at the Five-Star Hoop Classic in Boston, told RivalsHoops.com that he is looking to transfer to a prep school in the fall.

Smith averaged 24 points per game in his first season at Ryan in 2002-2003 after spending his first three years of high school at Indian River H.S. in Chesapeake, Va.
Some of the schools who have expressed interest in Smith over the past year include Old Dominion, Richmond, Iowa State and Penn.
Even though he's already scored an 840 on the SAT, Smith said he is looking to transfer from Ryan to a prep school for academic reasons.
We'll keep you posted on Smith this spring and summer, so keep it tuned to RivalsHoops.com for top coverage on the Class of 2004 and beyond....
