Virginia guard headed to Final Four team

George Mason went right to the family tree for their latest commit. Virginia guard Cameron Long, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound prospect from Freedom High School in Woodbridge, Va., played for a former Patriot and will suit up for the CAA power next year.
Long, who plays under the tutelage of Ahmad Dorsett who starred at GMU under Jim Larranaga in the late 1990s, verbally committed to the Patriots after officially visiting the campus over the weekend. Dorsett said he couldn't be happier for his star player.

"He feels really comfortable with the players there and the coaching staff," Dorsett said. "Me and other coach on our staff, Allen Johnson, played there and we're just excited for him. This is a career move and he's a class A kid and they are a class A program. Everything is first class on both ends."
Dorsett said George Washington was also in the picture and the Atlantic 10 school was next on the visit list.
"He had other schools but he was really impressed with Coach L during the home visit and felt very comfortable with them," Dorsett said.
The Patriots landed a versatile guard that can play both guard spots. He averaged 15 points, six rebounds and five assists a game a junior.
"He's a guy that can bring the ball up and be that pass first, shoot second guy," Dorsett said. "He wants to get guys involved. He's very explosive, can shoot the three and has good ball control. He'll be very good at the collegiate level."
