The news was confirmed by the director of Caupain's summer team, Team Loaded's Ty White.
"I think he felt it was the right time and the right fit," White told Rivals.com "He went down and visited campus and went to a game last season. He felt that they did the best recruiting him."
A versatile guard who can play on or off the ball, Caupain likes to make plays off the dribble. Part of the attraction to Cincy was an affinity for their playing style and opportunity to play early.
"They want him as a point guard, as a lead guard," said White. "He gets an opportunity to come in and play as a freshman. He plays their style of basketball."
"He's passionate, hard nosed and values every possession. You don't see many kids as competitive as him."
A three-star prospect, Caupain will make stops in Myrtle Beach, Milwaukee and Las Vegas with Team Loaded during July.
