Viney taking his time

Drew Viney is in no hurry to make a decision about his future. In fact, the 6-foot-7, 195-pound small forward/shooting guard from Villa Park (CA) High School is looking forward to the recruiting process and taking some official visits when that time comes. The No. 70 rated player in the class of 2007 is receiving a great deal of interest from several high-major programs at this time.
"Everything with my recruitment is going good. Things are very smooth right now," said Viney. "I have a lot of options at this point and I am wide-open in my recruitment. I am hearing a lot from Washington, California, Iowa State and most of the schools in the Pac-10. A lot of schools are actually recruiting me right now."

With the start of his junior season underway, Viney, the four-star prospect, does not intend to spend too much time thinking about his recruitment. Most, if not all of his attention, will be focused on helping his team win and improving in all areas of his game.
However, Viney stated that he has taken two unofficial visits to date and is looking forward to taking some official visits in the future. He has not thought about what schools to officially visit, but that will be decided upon when he gets closer to taking those visits.
"I went up to California and USC to visit each campus unofficially," said Viney. "I really had a great time on both visits. Each campus is extremely beautiful and the people were great. I do want to take advantage of some official visits, but I do not really know what schools I am going to visit right now.
"I will probably use four to five visits, but I haven't really thought about that yet," he added. "I will spend more time thinking about my recruitment and what schools to visit once the season is over. We just got started and currently have an overall record of 3-1. My team is playing really well right now and I feel like I am playing really well."
