Viney makes the switch official

The news is anticlimactic as a Drew Viney commitment to Oregon was expected after the former California commitment scheduled a visit to Oregon this past weekend. This morning Viney made it official that he will play his college ball with his childhood friend Kamyron Brown at Oregon.
"I talked with my mom last night, and I'm ready to announce that I'm going to Oregon," said Viney, a 6-foot-7, 195-pound small forward from Villa Park (Calif.) High School.

Viney once again stated the importance of playing with Brown but also spoke highly of his visit to Oregon.
"Plying with Kamyron in college has always been a dream of both of us since being little kids, really," said Viney. "But besides that, I was impressed with the chemistry of the team and the coaches. It just felt like a great fit while I was up there."
With Brown and Viney in the fold, the Ducks are now targeting finesse power forward Darnell Gant with its final scholarship.
Viney, the No. 61 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds per game as a junior.
Drew Viney scouting report:
Skilled and smooth with the ball, Viney is an excellent passer. He can also score in a variety of ways. Defensively, he rebounds well with his length and sure hands, but does need to improve his strength and lateral quickness.
