Villanueva Will Announce Soon
Blair Academy head coach Joe Mantegna told us today that his star forward Charlie Villanueva is close to making a decision. "He has not made one just yet," Mantegna said. "But he could announce next week."
The date being talked about is next Tuesday, November 5th. However, this is not a solid date just yet. "He may decide to do it earlier than that," Mantegna said. "I have to talk to him more about it. Right now, it could be next week. But he might decide to do it another day."

Mantegna said Villanueva has enjoyed all of his visits -- Illinois, Villanova, Indiana, and Seton Hall. "They are all great schools," Mantegna said. "It's going to be a tough decision for Charlie. He has not called any coach yet with a decision so they are all being considered."
Villanueva, who is also receiving some interest from NBA scouts, will likely choose his college by next week. Then, in the spring, he will have to choose whether he will put his name into the June 2003 NBA draft or polish his skills more by playing some college ball.
