Villanueva Sets Up IU Trip

Everything is working out nicely for Indiana head coach Mike Davis. Charlie Villanueva, the highly sought after 6-10 combo forward from Queens, New York, will take the visit to Indiana on the weekend of October 18th. Villaneuva's head coach Joe Mantegna of Blair Academy in New Jersey told us the date is now set.
Villanueva will take the SAT on October 12th as will Luol Deng, RivalsHoops.com's second ranked player in the 2003 class. Villanueva, No. 3 in the top 100, will also take a visit to Seton Hall this weekend. He will finish up his trips with a visit to Villanova the weekend of October 25th.

Villanueva had a very successful visit to Illinois last weekend, according to Mantegna. "He got along great with the players, liked the campus and had a very good time," Mantegna said. "Illinois has a great program like the other schools on his list. Charlie is going to have a tough decision."
Villanueva, who had a rock solid summer, can spray you with jumpers from beyond the three or hammer you with a thundering dunk in transition. He runs the floor well and is agile enough to play several positions on the college level.
Villanueva should have a big year at Blair. He is one of the obvious candidates for the McDonald's All American game.
