Villanueva On South Orange Campus

It's a big weekend for Seton Hall. One of their top targets, Charlie Villanueva, the 6-10 combo forward from Blair Academy in New Jersey, is currently on the South Orange campus. Villanueva will be given the red carpet treatment for sure. It's what most schools do when you have a top five player on your campus.
The Hall is one of four schools still left standing in this recruiting process. The Pirates have done an excellent job in this process like its competitors. If Villanueva elects to play college ball, he will make an immediate impact to whatever program he chooses.

Villanuva must first straighten the academic part out first if he is to play college basketball. He is taking this task seriously. Instead of taking a visit, he will instead take the SAT on October 12th. He will start his Indiana visit on October 18th. Villanueva, No. 3 in the RivalsHoops.com's top 100, will then finish up his trips with a visit to Villanova the weekend of October 25th.
Villanueva had a very successful visit to Illinois last weekend, according to Blair head coach Joe Mantegna. "He got along great with the players, liked the campus and had a very good time," Mantegna said. "Illinois has a great program like the other schools on his list. Charlie is going to have a tough decision."
Villanueva, who had a rock solid summer, can spray you with jumpers from beyond the three or hammer you with a thundering dunk in transition. He runs the floor well and is agile enough to play several positions on the college level. Villanueva should have a big year at Blair. He is one of the obvious candidates for the McDonald's All American game.
