Good news for college basketball fans. One of the country's top rated players in the 2003 class has qualified academically. A source close to Charlie Villanueva, the 6-10 senior at Blair Academy in New Jersey, qualified academically on his SAT score.
Villanueva had taken the test on October 12th. He received the results back this week, according to our source. This is an important grade for Charlie, who would have likely tested the NBA waters if he did not nail the score.
Last week, Blair Academy released a statement regarding the recruiting situations involving Villanueva Number 3 in RivalsHoops.com's Top 100) and Luol Deng (Number 2 in Top 100). Both Deng and Villanueva will announce their school of choice at a 12 Noon ET press conference on Tuesday, November 5, 2002.
Deng (left) will choose between Duke, Missouri, Virginia, and Indiana. Villanueva will decide between Illinois, Seton Hall, Villanova, and Indiana.
We will continue to keep you posted on both recruiting races.
