Villanueva: Decision Next Month On NBA

Charlie Villanueva, Blair Academy's offensive minded 6-9 forward from Brooklyn, N.Y., will make a final determination about his future plans following the Sonny Vaccaro Roundball Classic in late March.
Villanueva, who scored 19 points in Blair's victory over Mt. Zion Christian Academy on Sunday, told Rivalshoops.com that he expects to make an announcement regarding his college/pro plans after the Roundball Classic on March 31 in Chicago, Ill.

Villanueva committed to Illinois in November after considering Seton Hall, Villanova and Indiana. At the time, he said that he would consider a direct leap to the NBA from high school if he were projected as a lottery pick in the June 2003 NBA Draft.
Villanueva has enjoyed a good senior campaign at Blair, but probably hasn't had the kind of season that would allow him to be a lottery pick in the draft.
"I am really not worrying about it right now," Villanueva said. "I am just playing ball and playing hard and I am not focusing on the NBA."
Last month, Villanueva told Rivalshoops.com that he was 80/20 leaning toward attending college over an NBA jump.
Whatever he opts to do, the public will find out in late March after the Roundball Classic. Rivalshoops.com will stay on top of the story.
