Villanova adds second for 2017

Jermaine Samuels (Nike/Jon Lopez @NikeEYB)

Four-star small forward Jermaine Samuels looked for just a day that he may need some time to make his college decision. As it turns out looks can be deceiving and the No. 49 player in America has chosen Villanova.

A 6-foot-6 small forward from the Weston (Mass.) Rivers School, Samuels had long been considered a heavy lean to the Wildcats and completed an official visit earlier this week.

However, while he was on his visit he picked up an offer from Duke and word was that he would at least visit the Blue Devils. Just yesterday released a top five that also included Kansas, Indiana and Georgetown.

Then came Saturday and Samuels tweeted that he's a done deal for Villanova.

Samuels added on his Twitter account, "There's no point in waiting when you know where you want to be."

Aggressive, tough and at his best attacking the hoop and playing from the three-point line and in, Samuels looks to be the perfect replacement for current Villanova star Josh Hart.

With Samuels in the fold, Villanova now holds two commitments from the class of 2017. Already committed is four-star big man Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree who is an effective rebounder and high energy interior player.

Now, Jay Wright and his staff can set their sites on the big targets remaining on their board like five-star shooting guard Lonnie Walker and five-star point guard Quade Green.
