Versatile SF Has Short List

FT. WAYNE, Ind. -- Nick Brooks, a versatile 6-5, 205 pound small forward from Robinson H.S. in Robinson, Ill., is one of the better rising senior prospects on Bob Pryor's Bloomington Red program this spring.
Although he lacks athletic explosiveness, Brooks is kind of a jack of all trades for Red. He in equally comfortable with both his back to the basket as well as facing up, yet he plays the game in a deliberate manner that sometimes makes it look like he's not playing at full tilt.

"I need to be more aggressive," Brooks said. "The top things I would like to improve on are my handle and shot."
Brooks is a good finesse finisher with range out to three point land on his jumper.
He said his top two schools are Illinois and Butler, but Ball State and Iowa have also taken a look at the Lincoln Land product.
"They just tell me stuff I need to do to get better," Brooks said of Illinois and Butler.
Brooks has taken unofficial trips to Butler, Illinois and Iowa thus far.
Brooks averaged 22 points, six rebounds and four assists per game this past season at Robinson. He said he has a 2.75 GPA and took the ACT for the first time in April (he is currently awaiting those results, but is slated to take the test in June again).
Brooks' busy summer slate will include pit stops at the Hoosier Shootout in Bloomington, the Kentucky Prep Festival in Louisville, as well as the AAU Super Showcase in Florida with Bloomington Red.
We will keep you posted on his play and recruitment in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
