HAMPTON, Va. – A tough, active and versatile forward out of the talented Albany City Rocks program, Jeenathan Williams sits among the 2018 Rivals150. Capable of playing a variety spots on the floor and with the toughness and determination to produce among the bigger bodies near the basket, a number of highly successful programs have come to value the New York native.

Ranked No. 107 in his class, Williams can play either the three or the four, depending on the type of lineup thrown out onto the court. The lefty can make shots out to the perimeter but where he is most comfortable is in scoring at the basket but also in defending and rebounding the ball, thus making his recruiting profile that much more attractive.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Williams told Rivals.com that Marquette, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Providence and Rhode Island are talking to him more than other programs.

Syracuse: “It is a dream school for me. I like them a lot. Everybody tells me I fit their playing style but I am just playing basketball and seeing what I can get out of it.”

Marquette: “They are recruiting me really hard. They are telling me that I am their number one guy. They are showing me a lot of love. I probably talk to them every day. It is like a family environment, which is what I am looking for.”

Providence: “They talk to me about every day, too. They call and check in on me and it is like a family there, too.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

A commitment is still on the backburner for Williams and while he plans on finishing his final year of travel ball with the Albany City Rocks travel program, he does have two trips he hopes to make. “I plan on visiting Syracuse and Marquette for sure, that is all I have in mind for now,” he said. “I want to visit there this summer and take my official visits early.”

RIVALS' REACTION

Where coaches have become reliant on multi-positional ballplayers, Williams fits the mold perfectly thanks to his buy-in, toughness and length. It appears that Marquette and Providence sit in a good spot with the four-star forward, but if Syracuse were to make a push, the Orange could become the favorites for the ultra-versatile junior.
