Veal making the rounds

Class of 2008 forward Toby Veal is a popular name on the recruiting radar right now and after a strong summer, the 6-foot-8 forward from Savannah (Ga.) Johnson High School is starting to take his recruitment to the next level.
Veal recently made an unofficial visit to Clemson and saw the Tigers' home opener on the football field and mixed in a little face time with Oliver Purnell and crew while at the ACC school.

"It was fun up there. I liked what I saw," Veal said. "We toured the campus and saw their guys work out and watched pretty much the whole team. They have a good, young team."
Another ACC school, Miami, has peaked his interest, too.
"The main school that I'm hearing from the most is Miami. I'll probably be going down there in October," Veal said. "I'm thinking a lot about them lately. They have a good business school and that's what I want to study."
Both Clemson and Miami have offered scholarships, Veal said, as has Tennessee and Virginia Tech. According to his AAU coach Curtis Wheeler, Alabama, Cinncinati, Charlotte, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Georgia, Illinois, Auburn, Florida State, Kansas State, VCU, Georgia Tech, Florida, and UNC Wilmington are also recruiting Veal.
Veal saw his recruitment pick up after a solid performance at the Nike All-America camp. While there, the rangy junior showed off his versatility, guarding on the wing while scoring and rebounding well at the basket.
"I know I need to keep working hard and keep improving," Veal said. "I'm doing that right now and hopefully we should have a big year (at Johnson HS)."
