Veal looking at fall decision

Toby Veal has a plan in picking his college school. He is looking long and hard at head coaches. After this spring, head coaches are taking a long look at the 6-foot-8 forward from Savannah (Ga.) Johnson High School.
Veal was one of the top standouts at the Wallace Prather Memorial Classic last weekend. He also shined at the Kingwood Classic in April.

Since then, Veal said he has fielded a number of calls trying to gauge where he is at in the recruiting process.
"It picked up a little bit after (the spring period). But they haven't been calling me as much as they have been calling my coach," Veal said. "I'll talk to them when I'm at school or after a workout. There have been more calls with that than anything else."
Villanova has jumped into the picture this spring. Florida State, Clemson, Tennessee, Kentucky, Auburn, Illinois and Georgia are all in the picture. Veal is claiming offers from all of the programs.
Veal said he wants to find a place where he can improve under the teaching of a good head coach.
"Whatever school makes me feel like I'm at home and where the coach is good," Veal said of his priorities in a future college home. "I don't have to play right away but playing time is nice. I want to help the team. After my two years of college, I'm trying to make it to the NBA. The coach that helps me do that, that's probably where I'm going to go."
All the schools are even now, he says, and he said he is eyeing a decision by the fall. He and his Johnson teammates will participate in Florida State's team camp this summer. He also has a trip to France with a United States team this summer.
