VCU lands third for 2013

Given the exposure his program has received over the past few years, it's not a surprise that Shaka Smart continues to recruit well at Virginia Commonwealth.
Saturday morning, Smart and his staff landed their third three-star commitment from the class of 2013 when Antravious Simmons made a verbal commitment.

A 6-foot-9 center out of Miami (Fla.) South, Simmons is an excellent compliment to the Rams playing style as they make a move to the A-10.
He is big and strong, plays with his back to the basket and dishes out physical play in the lane. While not a high flyer, he can run very well, has strong hands and is very secure with the ball.
His commitment was confirmed by longtime summer coach Kenny Gillions of Team Breakdown who was clear and to the point about the reason Simmons picked VCU.
"He developed a really good relationship with Shaka," Gillion told Rivals.com.
Simmons joins a class that already features a quick and elusive point guard in Tennessee native Jequan Lewis as well as Rivals150 combo guard Jairus Lyles.
