Various schools tracking English 7-footer

While many of the nation’s top prospects are signing letters-of-intent right now, there are many prospects that will wait until the spring and see how another season of play affects their stock. One such player is England transplant Liam Potter, a 7-foot, 230-pound center from the Tilton (N.H.) School.
“Liam is getting interest from Rice, New Hampshire, Georgia, Northeastern, Georgia Tech, Dartmouth and George Washington,” said Tilton head coach Scott Willard. “Dartmouth, George Washington, Northeastern, Rhode Island and Maine all came in to watch him workout this fall.”

At the moment Potter is working on adjusting to American style basketball.
“Liam is from England, and he hasn’t been here long,” said Willard. “Most of the schools are wanting to see him develop over the season. He has to get used to the style of play in the United States.
“He will sign late. He is a good student and just took the SAT Saturday.”
Potter does run the floor well for a big man and can score with his back to the basket.
“Liam runs the floor very well and has a couple nice back to the basket post moves,” said Willard. “We need to work with him on making better decisions with his court spacing and his footwork. We are confident that once we work with him he’ll do well.”
