Vanderbilt and Kevin Stallings needed to find a big man in the class of 2011. Sunday afternoon the Commodores got their man when Shelby Moats decided to make Nashville his college home.
A 6-foot-8 power forward from Waconia (Minn.) High, Moats caught several coaching staff's eyes over the summer while playing with Minnesota Pump 'N Run.
He was in Nashville over the weekend and found everything he was looking for.
"Vanderbilt has everything I'm looking for in a school," Moats told Rivals.com. "With the combination of athletics and academics it seemed like a great place before I got there."
"But after meeting and hanging out with the team and coaches I knew it was where I needed to be."
