Uzoh has options

2006 point guard Ben Uzoh is drawing a strong mix of mid-major and high-major interest. Uzoh, 6-foot-2, 170-pounds from Warren High School in San Antonio, Texas, is presently looking at six schools and is favoring one of the top mid-major programs in the country.
"My top six are Creighton, Tulsa, Rice, Colorado State, Wyoming and Nebraska," said Uzoh. "Right now I'd consider Creighton my leader. They've offered along with Tulsa, Colorado State and Wyoming. Rice and Nebraska are showing lots of interest and would like me to visit this spring."

With a visit to Creighton scheduled for April 21, Uzoh expects to use all of his visits and make a decision some time in May.
"I'm looking for a place where I will enjoy playing for four years and where I feel at home," he said. "I want to be around good people and at a school with a winning mentality."
Averaging an impressive 9.5 rebounds to go along with 20.6 points and 3 assists per game this season for his 27-8 team, Uzoh brings a number of assets to the court according to his AAU coach Brandon Graham of the San Antonio Celtics.
"Ben is very long and deceptive," said Graham. "He rebounds very well for his position, and he has a very high basketball IQ. He makes very few mistakes, takes good shots and has the ability to create for himself."
