UVA wraps up 2010 recruiting class

It looks like Coach Tony Bennett has wrapped up his first recruiting class at Virginia with Wednesday's commitment of 6-foot-7, 215-pound power forward Akil Mitchell of Charlotte (N.C.) Christian School.
"Virginia seemed like the perfect fit as far as academics, basketball and location," said Mitchell.

Virginia began recruiting Mitchell after he impressed the coaching staff at the Virginia elite camp.
"Coach McKay knew about me from when he was at Liberty," said Mitchell. "Coach Bennett started recruiting me after he saw me at the elite camp."
Mitchell, who also considered offers from George Washington and SMU, is a combo forward who can create mismatches with his ability to play both inside and on the perimeter.
He is the fifth Virginia commitment in the 2010 class, joining four-stars K.T. Harrell and James Johnson and three-star prospects Joe Harris and Will Regan.
