UVA Lands Minter

Sources close to Donte Minter, a 6-8 power forward/center from Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia, tell us he has given an official verbal commitment to the Virginia basketball program. A source close to Minter told us the commitment took place this morning.
Minter, who is expected to help the Cavaliers along the frontline next season, will be welcomed help especially after Travis Watson leaves. But Virginia is likely to continue to pursue a forward who can also face the basket and score some points from the perimeter too.
Minter is a very capable inside player who is likely going to strengthen Virginia inside with his rebounding and shotblocking skills.
But Virginia, according to a source familiar with the Cavaliers basketball program, told us that Pete Gillen and his staff are also trying to land another face-up forward for either this year or the 2004 class.
