Friday night during an official visit to Utah, the Michigan native who is prepping at Philadelphia (Pa.) Rise Academy committed to the Utes.
A 6-foot-7 combo forward who has shown spurts of ability, Kuzma really started to put things together during the spring and summer of 2013.
He has good size for the wing and can be a matchup problem at the four because of his length, quickness and ability to shoot and drive. He lacks strength, but he has a lean frame that should easily carry more weight once he gets into a college weight room.
Kuzma's play has him knocking on the door of the Rivals150. Even if he doesn't quite make it during next week's update, he is a good find for the Utes as they work to upgrade their overall talent level.
The Utes' second commitment from the class of 2014, Kuzma joins homegrown four-star Brekkott Chapman as an early commitment.
